Community members urged to be proactive

PARKHURST – PARKVIEW police, with the help of community volunteers, held an awareness campaign about thefts of cars and theft out of cars in Parkhurst.

The educational campaign involved the distribution of awareness pamphlets, which encourage community members to take proactive and preventative measures to prevent falling victim to criminal activities.

Anti-corruption stickers by the Parkview Community Police Forum were also handed out to motorists. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Lloyd Ramovha said this was consistent with their stance against corruption in all forms.

“It is a fact that for the corruption act to be complete, it takes two parties; an official and a member of the public,” said Ramovha. “So the public is urged not to condone it but to report all corrupt activities immediately.”

Ramovha added that the campaign was warmly received by motorists and community members who undertook to play their part in fighting crime and remaining vigilant.
