More Mo Flava magic for five matriculants

CRAIGHALL - YFM DJ Mo Flava has partnered with Boston Media House for his second bursary drive which has once again proven to be a huge success. He awarded five matriculants with bursaries worth over R350 000.

The aim of the drive is to create an opportunity for youth from previously disadvantaged backgrounds to take the next step in their education.

With the drive now at an end, the winners have been announced and have already started their courses at Boston Media House to pursue their dream careers in the world of media.

Flava said it was important to set an example that will hopefully stir other entertainers to follow in his footsteps.

“I felt compelled to do something,” said Flava.

“These bursary drives are inspired by a South African reality in which too many matriculants are unable to further their studies due to financial constraints. Being aware of this situation is no longer sufficient – those who have the means should rather commit themselves to help to address it.”

For the winners, these bursaries represent a major step towards their careers in the media industry.

“As a young woman growing up in Soweto my dream was to entertain and relate to people. Now with this bursary I am given the chance to fulfil my dream with a great education,” said Reabetswe Thipe who is studying towards a Diploma in Media Practices.

“Some say I am lucky, I agree. I also consider myself blessed to have Mo Flava and Boston Media House recognise my talent and support me in achieving my dream.”
