BREAKING NEWS: 84 pupils treated after school fire

BEREA - PUPILS from a school in Berea have been treated for smoke inhalation following a fire at the school.

According to Robert Mulaudzi, spokesperson for Johannesburg Emergency Services a fire broke out at the creche this afternoon.

The fire is said to have started in the school’s kitchen, burning the kitchen, a storeroom and a garage.

84 pupils were treated for smoke inhalation on the scene, but no serious injuries have been reported.

According to Mulaudzi, the fire was contained within the kitchen area.

Staff still on the scene are traumatised by the days events.
