Highlands North resident has power restored to home after months

Highlands North resident, Sonia Scalco, can finally breathe a sigh of relief.

This after City Power fixed an electricity problem that she had for over six months.

Scalco’s electricity was cut off on 17 March due to the heavy rains at the time. She said employees from the entity could not fix her problem immediately as the ground was wet.

“The next best thing was for them to install a temporary cable connected to the pylon outside. This went through my garden and into my garage where the main switch is located,” she said.

After months went by without a word from the City Power officials, she began to worry.

In the article, City Power knocked, week ending 8 August, Scalco told this newspaper that she was concerned that her grandchildren and dogs would get electrocuted by the cable.

But City Power finally attended to the issue.

“Although I am not happy that this took the municipality so long to fix, I am grateful that my power supply has been restored, as I was afraid that my appliances would no longer work properly or be damaged,” said Scalco.
