City Sightseeing hop-on, hop-off open-top bus tours
Available on all festival days, this is one of the best ways to see the city, and is completely family friendly.
Rooftop braais
The Parktonian Hotel’s rooftop swimming pool is one of Joburg’s best hidden gems. Watch the sunset and enjoy a kebab braai at this extraordinary place throughout the festival.
Spit braai and beer
The Vault underground bar at the Mapungubwe Hotel in Marshalltown is hosting several spit braais and beer festivities throughout the festival.
Other fringe events include going for a tour and beer tasting at the SAB World of Beer, or attending the Science Fiction Festival at Sci Bono Discovery Centre.
Attendees can spend some time at the Origins Centre in Braamfontein or watch printmaking demonstrations at David Krut Projects in Maboneng.
The thirsty can drink cocktails at the Elevate rooftop bar, and live performances can be experienced at Constitution Hill in Braamfontein and the Pop Art Theatre in Maboneng.
Those still not satisfied can take a walking tour from Alcazaba Lodge in Fordsburg or listen to poetry readings and music at Il Giardino.
Film buffs can take in a film screening at The Bioscope in Maboneng.
