Greenside notice of public meeting

GREENSIDE – Residents are reminded about the public meeting that will take place today on bylaw enforcement in the business nodes of Melville and Greenside.

The meeting is at the Pavillion Room at Marks Park Sports Club on Judith Road in Emmarentia at 6pm.

Ward 87 councillor, Amanda Forsythe, has invited the Parkview and Brixton police, Joburg Metro police, officials from Urban Planning, Environmental Health, Economic Development and the Liquor Board.

This after the Parkview police and the Johannesburg Metro police conducted a number of raids in Greenside, often with the support of other city departments like environmental health, fire and safety, and urban planning.

Forsythe said because of time constraints, it may not be possible to address all the issues residents and business owners may want to raise.

“For this reason, if residents or businesses wish to prepare letters or complaints or hand over a list of issues that have been reported (with reference numbers) but have not been dealt with, you are welcome to bring them to the meeting and we will collect them, collate them and pass them on to the relevant officials for follow up,” she stated in a newsletter.

“I will also have printed forms available that you can fill in at the meeting with your queries and concerns.”

All residents and business owners are invited to attend.
