Jazz on the Lake’s road closures

The annual daytime concert, which has become known as Joburg’s unofficial welcome to spring, will begin at 11am and go on until to 5.30pm on the Sunday.

Motorists, music lovers and residents are warned, however, of planned road closures that will be placed around the area.

According to festival organisers, a system of park and rides will be in place to ferry festival-goers to the venue and e-Tuk-Tuks will relieve those who’ve chosen to walk, by ferrying them to the venue within the cordoned off area.

The Park and Ride buses will be available from the following points:

•  Joburg Metro Building in Braamfontein;
•  Alexandra Football Stadium in Alexandra.

The Park and Ride service will run from 9am until 9pm – frequency of the runs as follows:

•  From 9am to 1pm – every half hour;
•  From 5.30pm to 8pm – every half hour.

Members of the public can catch the Rea Vaya bus service to the Metro Building in Braamfontein (opposite Joburg Theatre) from where they can access the Park and Ride buses to Zoo Lake.

Residents are warned that without resident parking passes, they will not be able to access the area by car.
