Afrika Tikkun and Add Hope team up to nourish the nation

ROSEBANK – Rosebank-based Afrika Tikkun has teamed up with KFC’s Add Hope initiative, in a mutually beneficial collaboration to make a difference to the lives of children and their families.

The corporate social responsibility initiative by KFC South Africa, Add Hope, announced their partnership with Afrika Tikkun, for the second consecutive year to launch their joint 94.7 Momentum Cycle Challenge team.

The cycle team will ride the local Johannesburg cycling event to promote their partnership, attract riders to join the team, and strengthen the giving culture of riders to fundraise money for children in early childhood development centres and schools across the country.

Funds raised by riders and donors of the cycle team will be used to directly nourish young children in six communities across South Africa, with particular focus on children and youth from the very impoverished community of Diepsloot.

Afrika Tikkun’s development and marketing executive, Onyi Nwaneri said, “Partnering with Add Hope to create a unique charity cycle team experience allows us to increase our reach into sports markets synonymous with charitable endeavours, whilst fitting in with cyclists’ own culture and interests.”

The Afrika Tikkun Add Hope charity cycle team welcomes road and mountain bikers of all abilities to cycle for their cause in the 94.7 Momentum Cycle Challenge. Charity entries are restricted and will close on 26 September so the team advises riders to join sooner rather than later.

Add Hope’s corporate social investment and sponsorship manager, Lauren Turnbull said, “Riding this event truly is a ‘challenge’ but knowing that riders are cycling the grueling 94.7 kilometres to provide healthy and balanced meals to the children of Diepsloot is a worthy achievement.”

Each rider is challenged to raise R2 500 which will fill two children’s tummies for a year.
