YEOVILLE police managed to track down and arrest a man for allegedly murdering his girlfriend at their residence on the corner of Becker Street and Cavendish Road.
Yeoville police spokesperson Constable Thabo Malatji said it was alleged that the suspect and the deceased had an argument. He said, “It is alleged that the suspect stabbed the deceased in the upper body.”
He added that the police were called to the scene and found a woman lying in a pool of blood. Malatji said, “The woman was certified dead on the scene by the paramedics.”
He said the police followed information they received from the public and managed to arrest the suspect a few blocks away from the scene while he was allegedly trying to escape.
The 27-year-old is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder.
