Major traffic disruptions for Walk the Talk

The 702 Walk the Talk will severely disrupt traffic in the Greenside and Emmerentia areas.

Residents are encouraged to use the time to stay in their residential areas and get to know their neighbours instead.

The Greenside Residents Association will host an outdoor fun day for residents who will be ‘landlocked’ by the closures.

According to the residents’ association chairperson Carol Millard, residents are encouraged to spend the day in the park at the Sir Lionel Phillips Park on 27 July, from 8am.

“Several vendors with refreshments, ice-cream, kiddies’ pop-up play zones and soccer for the little ones have been organised in order to attract residents to the new outdoor Techno Gym, which was donated by Discovery Health 702 Walk the Talk,” she added.

“Residents are invited to come and try it out – we even hope to have a gym instructor available to give some advice.”

All are welcome to bring umbrellas, blankets, sun block and hats to enjoy a day out with family and friends.

“There will be plenty to eat, however residents can bring their own picnic baskets and make a day of Jozi’s beautiful winter sunshine.”

The park is located on Cruden Bay Road, on the corner of Braeside Road, just past the Pirates Club entrance.
