Huddle Park Market launched

SUNDAY afternoons will never be same again for greater Linksfield residents.

This, after the launch of the new Huddle Park Market which takes place at the Huddle Park Golf and Recreation centre.

The event is the brainchild of two women who initiated the market to support talented locals.

35-year-old Debbie Fendick and Kerry Cordern said they felt that small businesses struggled to get themselves out there so they came up with a plan to bring them all under one umbrella where they can also support one another.

Both entrepreneurs themselves, Fendick and Cordern said they understand the need for small businesses to come together.

Cordern told the North Eastern Tribune that they are passionate about South Africa as a whole and want to make a difference.

Fendick has a kids’ clothing line and Cordern and her husband Brad, own an online organic produce store.

The Market, as it has now been dubbed, is also involved in social responsibility initiatives.

Cordern said, “… We sponsor three to four tables to the underprivileged or special causes like Save the Rhinos which was at our last two markets.”

Fendick said in order to maintain high standards and quality, they screen all products before allowing anyone to become a stall holder.

Cordern’s daughter, Amy is among the stall holders and sells sweets to visitors.

The Market takes place from 10am to 3pm every Sunday.
