Yeoville police busted a teenager on a charge of murder after a man was stabbed to death on the street.

Yeoville police arrested a teenager on a charge of murder after he allegedly stabbed a man to death.

According to police, the 19-year-old was arrested on the corner of De la Rey and Francis streets.

Yeoville police spokesperson, Constable Thabo Malatji said the victim was walking on the street when three men approached him and started to rob him. Malatji said a scuffle ensued.

He said, “One of the robbers took out a knife and stabbed the deceased three times on the upper body.”

Malatji said the police were called to the scene and one suspect with a knife on his person was apprehended while trying to run away. He added that the other two suspects managed to run away. However, Malatji vowed that the the other two suspects would be arrested. The suspect was expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court facing a charge of murder.
