Run for Mandela

On 13 July, Dermalogica South Africa paid homage to Nelson Mandela by participating in the Kaya FM 67km Relay for Mandela Day.

The relay in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation is a corporate relay challenge event in honour of Mandela Day.

The aim of the relay was to promote social responsibility as well as uplifting those less fortunate.

Dermalogica’s efforts went towards raising funds for their Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship (Fite) initiative which empowers non-profit organisation, These Numbers Have Faces.

Marie van Zyl of Dermalogica said, “The non-profit organisation has become an important part of our local Fite through its initiative to invest in students of Africa so they may lead and empower their countries. FITE is thrilled to help their scholars build successful futures.”

Under the Dermalogica and Fite banner, 21 teams made up of 210 runners took to the streets in Waterfall Estate, Johannesburg to run at total of 1 407km.

“Fite gives girls the knowledge to succeed as entrepreneurs. We believe investing in girls’ education is one of the most effective ways to fight poverty, bolster poor communities, and foster economic growth and stability,” said Van Zyl.
