ONE OF the county’s most popular shows on e.tv, SA’s Got Talent, is back for another season, and anyone with any talent can give it a shot.

An 11-year-old Orange Grove resident, Doron Lubie who performs the magic trick, passe passe Pringles, has made it through to the second round.

North Eastern Tribune caught up him to hear what he was expecting in competition. Lubie spoke about chasing and believing in his dreams, and said he expected to go far.

Lubie said, “I am a talented magician. I know I can go very far and I am very excited about it.”

He said his dad Stanley, was responsible for nurturing his magic skills. Lubie said, “My father has been teaching me magic, but recently he hired Stan Sussman to help me polish my magic talent.”

Stanley said he believes the Grade 4 pupil from Eden College was going all the way to the finals.

He said, “Doron is definitely going to the finals. He [Doron] also encourages other children to find something they love and practise hard and they will become superstars.”

Lubie also invited anyone who supported him to join his Facebook fan club under his name.

Kee-Leen Irvine, the show’s executive producer said SA’s Got Talent is probably the only show in which contestants of all ages can compete. She added that the youngest was a seven-year-old while the oldest was 81. She said she preferred the variety in the show.

“We have a wide array of talent on the show. In the past finals we have had a male pole dancer, a magician, a juggler, a ventriloquist and a rhythmic gymnast. We are hoping to get more of that,” she said.

Lubie has many strings to his bow – he also appears in various commercials and has a role in the comic TV series Dennis the Menace. He started acting at the age of six, has a purple belt in karate and also plays drums.
