Norwood plans more activities for Mandela Day

The Norwood Orchards Residents' Association has partnered with renowned hip-hop artist AKA, Michelle Rozowsky's Adventure Boot Camp and Lynn Forbes' Brain Boosters Training Provider to commemorate Mandela Day.

The association will take part in two charity events on 9 and 11 July to help raise funds for the Impilo Child Protection and Adoption Services.

The first event will be a sponsored boot camp which, according to chairperson of the association Brett McDougall, will include sponsoring the chair to take part in the challenge.

“Forbes will also invite guests to join her at a boot camp class for her birthday on 11 July, with all proceeds going to Impilo,” he said.

McDougall added that on 18 July the Boot Camp Ladies will be working at the Impilo Child Protection and Adoption Services on the community vegetable garden as part of the planned events for the clean-up week.

“Additionally, Rozowsky, Forbes and rapper AKA will hand over a cheque to Impilo from the funds raised on Mandela Day,” he said.

The association will continue to commemorate Mandela Day throughout the week of 14 to 20 July with various clean-ups of the area, culminating in a clean-up of the Norwood Park on 20 July. This will be done together with the boot camp, Brain Boosters and Pam Golding Properties.

Adventure Boot Camp is based in Norwood, while Forbes’ Brain Boosters training provider specialises in early learning development.
