Thieves make off with laptop and R20 000 in Kew

Police are investigating two cases of theft after a vehicle and valuables were stolen in Kew.

THE POLICE are investigating two cases of theft after a vehicle and valuables were stolen in Kew.

According to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, the vehicle theft took place on the corner of 12th Road and Louis Botha Avenue.

“The complaint left his car to go into a shop, and when he returned he realised that the car had been stolen,” he said.

The car has not been recovered and the police are still investigating the matter.

In another incident, thieves made off with R20 000 and a laptop from a business in Bramley. According to Maphakela, the complainant left the workplace the night before with everything in order.

“When he came to work the following day, he found the garage door forced open and one of vehicles on the property vandalised,” he said.

The estimated value of the stolen items is R50 000. No arrests have been made yet.
