International startup event unites tech-entrepreneurs

Startup Grind, an international start-up community for entrepreneurs held its first meeting in Johannesburg.

Powered by Google for Entrepreneurs, Startup Grind educates, inspires and connects entrepreneurs.

The fireside style chat was held at JoziHub, Johannesburg’s first technology co-creation hub dedicated to providing entrepreneurs with resource support and a platform for tech start-ups.

Founder and managing director of Open-Technik, Freddy Mahhumane facilitated the inaugural event which commenced with an hour of mingling and networking with guests and other key stakeholders.

Mahhumane opened the floor to questions from the guests.

Questions varied from general entrepreneurial discussions to more focused discussions about the tech-space in and around Southern Africa, but regardless of the type of question, Mahhumane established a positive repertoire with the audience.

Mahhumane also shared his early professional and personal struggles, ideas on developments in the tech-space and about Open-Technik’s role in that future.
