CEOs celebrate fine craftsmanship at the Hyatt

A CEO networking event was recently held at the Hyatt in Rosebank.

Van Ryn’s brandy and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars had the opportunity to celebrate fine craftsmanship in an evening which showcased the best of both brands.

Since the 110-plus years of their establishment, both brands are built on a rich history and have achieved global acclaim.

Rolls-Royce designer Alex Innes, from the UK headquarters, and Distell Master Brandy distiller Brink Liebenberg met in Johannesburg in June to discuss the brands from their individual perspectives and unpacked the fastidious processes behind their respective disciplines.

Liebenberg, an engineer by training, sees the brandy blending process as one of trial and error until the magic happens. “South Africa’s connoisseur potstill brandies rank on a par with the world’s best cognacs and stand way ahead of brandies made elsewhere,” Liebenberg said.

Innes, who holds a BA (Hons) in Automotive Design said, “We at, Rolls-Royce Bespoke Atelier work under the guiding principle that ‘the only limit is your imagination’ allowing owners to express themselves and create design to their own unique tastes”.

Alexander Forbes CEO Edward Kieswetter, and Distell managing director Richard Rushton were some of the big names in attendance at the event.
