Police chase VW Polos in Parkhurst

Cops catch polo thieves in the act.

Parkhurst residents were woken up to screeching tyres and police sirens on the morning of 20 June as police gave chase after car thieves.

According to spokesperson for Parkview police, Seargent Lloyd Ramovha, an attempt was made to steal a VW Polo on 12th Street in the wee hours of the morning.

“The suspects were spotted in what seemed to be a red VW Golf 6 and a chase was ensued but the suspects got away,” he said.

Ramovha said the car’s doors and ignition were damaged during the attempt.

This incident occurred a few days after the Parkview police issued a warning to VW Polo owners as the vehicle had become a target of criminals operating in the area.
