Bramley police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the homeowner and her domestic worker heard a noise at the gate of the property.When they looked through the window, they noticed a man in the driveway wearing a grey sweater.
After the two heard the sound of a car engine running and fearing for the lives, they hid inside the house on 1st Street and alerted security officials via a panic button. The alarm went off and security officials arrived soon thereafter.
The homeowner went outside to meet the officers where they noticed that the gate had been damaged. Maphakela said no one was injured during the incident and the damage incurred was estimated to be about R3 000.
