Acclaimed artists at Rubixcube

Artists like Neil Nieuwoudt and Peter Mammes will feature in an upcoming group exhibition at Rubixcube art gallery.

THE Rubixcube Gallery will play host to several acclaimed and new artists in an upcoming exhibition this month. The gallery will host a group exhibition, titled End Pages, which will feature curator and artist Neil Nieuwoudt this month.

According to Nieuwoudt, the exhibition will feature some of his work which includes ‘altered books’ and ‘butterfly prints’ collections.

“The exhibition is an eclectic collection of work of varying styles and themes welcoming two new artists into the Rubixcube fold,” he said.

Nieuwoudt added that the artists featured in the exhibition include Peter Mammes, Jotam Schoeman and Frederick Clarke.

Nieuwoudt is known for his work which deals primarily with the notions of subjectivism and objectivism. The artist has also exhibited in various spaces around the world and locally at NIROXprojects and the Joburg Fringe, among others.

Mammes bases his artistry mainly on life experiences and has spent the last few years capturing and collecting unique patterns and images from foreign and unfamiliar locations and environments, meticulously incorporating them into his work.

The opening will take place at on 5 June at Rubixcube Gallery, Unit 22, Arts on Main, Fox Street, at 7pm.
