A class of their own

Hyde Park High School staged its school's production, A class of their own.

The play is an original script co-written by well-known name entertainment personality, Shelley Adriaanzen and school staff member Danielle Bentel.

The production featured musical hits from a variety of productions and whisked the audience across the globe through its dramatisation.

“Embracing South Africa’s 20th anniversary of democratic freedom, the class highlighted our unique cultural and musical heritage, proving that no matter how appealing the glitz and glamour of Hollywood is, we as South Africans cannot deny or forget our vibrant rainbow nation roots,” said the school’s media liaison, Avril Wright.

The play had everyone rolling with laughter about the trials and tribulations of school life, and tapping their feet and clapping hands to the beat, from the first number through to the finale.

The production showcased the rich and abundant talent that the school has.
