Manhunt for boardroom robbers

Norwood police are on the manhunt for two suspects who robbed a man in the boardroom of his company.

According to police, the victim was in the company’s boardroom with his co-employees when two men barged into the boardroom, with one holding a firearm.

Norwood police spokesperson Constable Nonzwakazi Tsoanyane said the armed suspect ordered the victim and the co-workers to lie down on the floor and tied the victim with a cable. Tsoanyane said, “One suspect took his jersey and put it over the victim’s head; meanwhile another suspect put his hand in the complainant’s pocket and took out his wallet, car keys and a Samsung S4 [smartphone].”

Tsoanyane added that the suspects ordered the victim’s co-workers to then leave the boardroom. She said the victim later heard a car driving off. Tsoanyane added, “The victim then decided to go and check in the offices and he found a lot of stuff was missing, including six laptops, seven desktops, plasma TV, a microwave, and 18 bottles of whiskey.” She said the total value of the stolen items was about R250 000. The suspects were still at large and the police appealed to the public to come forward with any information.
