Students were given the opportunity to meet and interact with representatives from several major corporate companies. They networked with potential employers.
BA Law student Dike Phatudi said the breakfast gave him the opportunity to get a front-view of corporate companies, “To interact with them, find out how they work, what they require. It’s actually very advantageous because you get to position yourself very strategically,” said the 21-year-old student.
President of the society, Awande Zwane said the intimacy of the event allowed for better and more effective engagement between students and company representatives.
“You could meet your future employee, colleagues, business partner here. It’s about using this opportunity to further your own degree, so that it doesn’t end in the lecture room or on graduation day,” she said.
The society rewards excellence among students in the top 15 percent of their respective faculties.
