Chilli festival to turn up the heat

KILLARNEY - Add some spice to your life this winter at the Killarney Mall Chilli Festival.

Now in its third year, this hot event promises more flavour, more burn, and more fun than ever before.

Mall spokesperson, Tyron Tromp said that the festival will see some of the country’s hottest chefs battle it out in a blistering charity cook-off, the mall’s Celebrity Chef Meltdown.

Chef Khumalo, Deena Naidoo and others will compete for a R10 000 donation to the winner’s chosen charity.

For those who enjoy the challenge of jumping through rings of fire, the festival will also offer a chilli-eating contest.

“Push yourself to the limits with the mall’s chilli-eating competition, and not only can you claim the reputation of fearless fire-eater, but you could also win a whopping R5000,” said Tromp.

Festival goers can also look forward to meeting the Kaya FM DJs, cooking demonstrations, and a world of spices, fragrant food and chilli-themed accessories.

The festival will run from 16 until 18 May at Killarney Mall, Riviera Road, Killarney.
