Youth to roast political leaders ahead of elections

MILPARK - Youth-led Live Magazine SA, are giving young people the opportunity to put questions to some political leaders at their second national youth debate on Tuesday 29 April.

Youth-led Live Magazine SA, is giving young people the opportunity to put questions to some political leaders in their second national youth debate on Tuesday 29 April.

Taking place from 2pm to 4pm at JoziHub in Milpark, the youth debate will feature Economic Freedom Fighters’ Dali Mpofu, Democratic Alliance national spokesperson Mmusi Maimane and Agang SA chief operating officer and policy convenor, Andrew Ihsaan Gasnolar.

A live poll will be taken pre- and post-debate via cellphones which will indicate youth voting preferences in the vital last days before the election.

MC for the debate is comedian Deep Fried Man whose brand new one-man show Deep Fried Man Kills opens at Joburg Theatre Fringe on Election night. The debate will be moderated by award-winning eNCA broadcast journalist Cathy Mohlahlana.

Young people throughout the country will also join the debate via Google Hangouts, including South African YouTube sensations Caspar Lee and Theodora Lee. Caspar Lee entertains over 2 million YouTube subscribers and 1.29 million Twitter followers with his daily videos from comedy skits to voicing his opinions on everyday subjects.

The debate forms part of Live Magazine SA’s year-long VIP: Voting is Power campaign, which focuses on encouraging the youth to participate in the country’s democratic activities.

The debate will also be live streamed for audiences across the globe.
