Thrilling first day Easter rugby fest

The Easter Rugby Festival kicked off at KES with Hoër Landbouskool Marlow playing against Hoërskool Eldoraigne.

Both teams displayed endurance and the drive to win as the game could have gone either way.

However Eldoraigne emerged victorius with a score of 8-6 against Marlow.

An early penalty to Marlow after a scrum 16 minutes into the game saw the boys in white take an early the lead with 3-0.

Minutes later Eldoraigne responded with a penalty kick of their own seeing both teams with 3points each at 9.08am.

Marlow seemed to take advantage of another penalty after winning a lineout which saw them push play back to halfway.

In the second half of the game, Marlow was still leading 6-3.

However skill and determination saw the Eldoraigne boys score a great try after a 5-phase series of passes.

The tight game ended with Eldoraigne leaving the pitch with the first match win bragging rights.

Later in the day KES, the hosts won comfortably 13-3 against Rondebosch.
