- Dixon’s stated that fibers from a pair of white socks which were found on the bathroom door came from Pistorius’ prosthetic legs. On Tuesday Dixon stated the firers were on the door from when Pistorius kicked the door to get to Steenkamp.
- Nel question whether Dixon had physically touched the fibers during his analysis, but Dixon stated that he made the deduction from seeing the socks in a photograph and did not examine them under a microscope.
- Under further questioning it was also ascertained that Dixon had not received blood spatter training.
- Nel also questioned Dixon’s career as he had given evidence in court before. “I view myself as an expert. My testimony has been accepted in court on a number of occasions,” said Dixon.
- The last proficiency test Dixon did was in 2011 or 2012 as he no longer works with the forensic services.
The case has been postponed until May 5.
