Security companies are warned to be extra vigilant because there has been an increase in security guards being held up in the townhouse complexes.
According to Warrant officer Karen Jacobs of the Honeydew police station, the criminals take the security guards personal belongings and in some cases they have gained access to the complex where they then rob residents.
These incidents have been occurring at night and in the early morning hours. “Kindly ensure that all security guards are adequately equipped with panic buttons and radios,” she said.
Security guards are urged to be extra vigilant and communicate with their companies on a regular basis. “Ensure that all your guards know the physical address of the complex,” she said.
