Theatre launches comedy nights
NEWTOWN - The Market Theatre is gearing up to launch Comedy Station, a regular comedy night and they have brought in Sifiso Nene to help launch it.
The first of many nights of laughter will take place this week at Kippies, in the theatre complex.
Nene the host for the night, launched his comedy career when he won the first season of reality TV show, So you think you are funny.
In 2012 he won the audience choice category at the Comics Choice Awards and in the same year, he also won best indigenous comedian at the South African Traditional Music Achievement Awards.
Nene walked away with the audience choice award again at the 2013 Comics Choice Awards and has starred in TV series Taxi Ride.
Nene will be joined by consummate comedians Loyiso Gola, Ndumiso Lindi and Jay Boogie.
Comedy Station will take place on 28 March at Kippes, the Market Theatre, in Newtown, at 8pm.
