Stuart Reece Odd Cafe gig cancelled

GREENSIDE - Singer-songwriter Stuart Reece will bring his own brand of easy listening music to popular Odd Cafe on Wednesday night.

Update: 12 March 3.45pm

Odd Cafe’s #UnpluggedWednesday event, featuring a live performance by Stuart Reece has been cancelled due to power supply issues.

“For two days, our power supply has been erratic due to municipal works in the area, and we are uncertain about the power supply tonight,” said owner Christine Patricios.
“We’d rather [wait] until we are certain there will be no power interruptions. We apologise for the cancellation.”

Initial post: 11 March 3.45pm

Reece will perform a set at the cafe’s regular #UnpluggedWednesday music session.

The 25 year old Port Elizabeth-born musician started playing guitar at the age of 13, and played in bands throughout his school career.

In October 2010, he formed his own band, which recorded its debut EP in 2011.

Two of the six songs on the EP made it onto national radio.

The Stuart Reece Band launched its first album, Chasing Shadows, in 2012, and followed it up with a second album last year.

Reece, solo and with his band, has performed alongside South African music acts including Elvis Blue, AKing, Dan Patlanski, Prime Circle, the Graeme Watkins Project, Evolver One, Jesse Clegg, Southern Gypsy Queen and Tony Cox.

Reece will perform on 12 March at Odd Cafe, 116 Greenway, Greenside, at 7.30pm.
