St John’s College, in association with Standard Bank, will be hosting 12 top schoolboy rugby sides at the school’s 19th Easter Rugby Festival.

This year six games will be contested on each of the three days of play.

The Preparatory School teams will play games each morning prior to the 1st XV games.

According to the school’s head of marketing, the objectives of the St John’s College Festival are to:

  • Promote the growth and development of school rugby, in the widest context;
  • Foster good fellowship amongst participants who come from a variety of backgrounds;
  • Provide an opportunity for boys from St John’s College and other schools to play against and socialize with sides they might not otherwise meet; and
  • Foster an exciting rugby spectacle and social occasion that will increase the popularity of rugby among school boys and supporters of schoolboy rugby.

The fixtures of the games have been posted on the St John’s College website.
