NEWTOWN - Dig deep into your creative side at workshops and courses for artists and budding artists at Assemblage Studios.
The studios will host a silkscreening workshop and a life drawing course this month.
“[We invite artists] to apply to participate in the silkscreening workshop to be held at the newly-opened Prints on Paper Studio at Assemblage,” said Anthea Pokroy.
“Over two days, participants will be taught the basics of silkscreening, [and] will be shown various monoprinting techniques and will be allowed to experiment with such [techniques].”
The first day of the workshop, facilitated by Zwelethu Machepha, will offer an introduction and concept development, while the second day will be dedicated to printing silkscreens.
The workshop will take place on 22 and 23 February from 10am until 4pm.
The studios’ life drawing course will begin on 22 February, and will take place on the last Saturday of every month.
The cost of the course includes two live models, a light snack, tea, coffee or wine, and easels.
