Alexandra police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the man was expected to appear at the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court to face a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
According to Maphakela the 23-year-old woman was at her boyfriend’s home in 16th Avenue when she received a call from her former boyfriend wanting to know where she was. They arranged to meet at her home in 17th Avenue.
The woman told her current boyfriend she needed to get home urgently and left. When she arrived home an argument ensued with her ex-boyfriend and he allegedly beat her up.
