Fashion thieves busted

NORWOOD – Police arrested two women in connection with shoplifting from a well-known clothing retail store.

According to police a witness told them two women stole seven Sissy Boy jeans, 21 Guess jeans, 6 Free2bu jeans, and various pairs of Puma socks all to the value of R27 636.

Norwood police spokesperson Constable Nonzwakazi Tsoanyane said, “The suspects appeared in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court and were denied bail due to pending cases against them.”

Tsoanyane added the suspects were 30 and 34 years old respectively.

She said after they were arrested the suspects told the police it was their first offence, but after their finger prints were taken police discovered that they could be linked to other cases.

Tsoanyane said, “Police also discovered that they used different names when they were arrested at different police stations.”
