Tamara Dey supports HospiceWits

JOBURG - If you've ever wanted to walk a mile in a pop star's shoes, HospiceWits' Benmore charity shop could bring you a step closer to your dreams.

The shop received a generous donation from singer and fashionista Tamara Dey after she gave her enviable wardrobe a facelift and cleared out lots of incredible garments.

“I support the work [HospiceWits does]. They care for individuals and their loved ones at a time when they need it most,” she said.

“Being diagnosed with terminal illness and the journey one [then] faces has many challenges, [and] being given love and dignity and quality of life each day… is precious. Hospice provides this.”

The organisation’s Julie McLeod said the quirky shop was full of “great secondhand goods”.

“Donations come through the doors daily… and happy shoppers buzz about, bargain hunting and seeking out vintage finds. Hospice sells these goods to generate funds to care for patients and their families,” said McLeod.

Shop manageress Anne-Marie Smit said she appreciated Dey’s support and charitable awareness.
