Alex boy mourns Madiba

ALEXANDRA - A young boy here has written a moving tribute to the fallen world icon and first black President of a democratic South Africa, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, who passed away on 5 December.

Alexandra and Rosebank Primary School pupil Lehlogonolo More, grandson of Thusong Youth Centre founder Beauty More, holds an earlier get well message he wrote for Madiba some months ago. He has again paid a fitting tribute to the father of the nation.

Lehlogonolo More of Thusong Youth Centre in Alex writes:

Tata Mandela, you are and will always be our hero and the father of the nation.

You will always be our icon and an international icon too. You will live long in memories and minds for what you have done for us. You have led us with distinction and now it’s time for us to walk your path.

You left us physically but emotionally you are still with us and you will reside in our minds and memory for a very very long time. A great man we lost. We will miss you, Tata Madiba.

Your legacy lives on in all of us. I always wished I could touch your hand but now you are gone. We will always remember you. We love you Tata. Rest in peace.
