Marimba band to perform in Rosebank
ROSEBANK - The Ubuntu Marimba Band will perform at the Zone in Rosebank on December 4.
Ubuntu is a unique Afro Marimba Band whose music has enthralled audiences around the world. The band has featured in international festivals such as Ramallah and Sabestia International Festival in Palestine.
In 2000 the group was invited to perform in the World Performing Arts Festival in Osaka, Japan. The festival included more than 70 countries.
In South Africa they have performed at popular venues such as the Bassline, Johannesburg Civic Theatre, Wits University, Sun City, The Play House in Durban, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Square in Port Elizabeth, The Windybrow Theatre and Wham Festival in Sasolburg.
Ubuntu combines African instruments such as marimbas and western drums to create a distinct and powerful African sound.
The event is organised by the Rosebank Management District.
