Thief strikes twice

After recently being robbed, a man working in Emmerentia appears to have been targeted a second around time by the same criminals.

According to Parkview spokesperson, Princess Madau the victim was hijacked during one of his deliveries on November 27.

She said, “The victim claimed that he and his colleague had been delivering goods before the incident occurred.”

“The colleague is said to have entered one of the yards where they were delivering when the victim was approached by three men who were armed and threatened to kill him if he did not do as he was told,” adds Madau.

Madau said that two of the men entered the car and drove off while the third man drove off in another car.

“The suspects met on another street to put the goods in their getaway car and thereafter, one of the men drove away with the victim and dropped him off at Umgeni Road in Emmerentia,” explains Madau.

“The victim alleged that before he was let go, one of the suspects told him that he had robbed him once before in August 2003 and asked if he recalled his face.”

The vehicle was found on hours later, parked however, with the engine still running in Emmerentia.
