Excuse me how did you get that job

JOBURG - Orange Grove resident Nomcebiso Ngqinambi has written a book, Excuse me how did you get that job, which will help people achieve desired results in the workplace.

The book is a guide to achieving happiness and productivity in the workplace. Ngqinambi said, “It talks to an individual holistically, and encourages you to interrogate yourself to establish what makes you unhappy.”

She has a vast background in soft skills training including customer service and negotiation skills, and dealing with employers and employees from diverse backgrounds.

Ngqinambi said her book talked to everyone from CEOs, managers to general workers. It explores and helps the reader identify the reason for looking and finding a job, and would help people realise why they started working and why they should keep going.

The book also covers personal finance, spirituality and many other topics related to the workplace. “I tackle the race issue as well and help people determine how they see race, how they see problems, do they give them colour or just look at the individual?”

The book also helps the individual understand the power they have over their destiny. “I want people to take that responsibility and move away from the blame syndrome and mob psychology,” said Ngqinambi.

The qualified speech and hearing specialist said the book was inspired by her own working experiences, where she found herself frustrated at different companies until she sat down to question the source of her frustrations.

“I stopped blaming others and realised that I was responsible for all the energy around me, so I decided to start teaching other people the importance of understanding yourself as an individual outside the group,” she said.

The book will be available from next year at leading book stores and at her workshops.
