Gobsmacked by taxi drivers

Blessing Pandeka writes in response to the article Taxi drivers must stop 'bullying', week ending 8 November:

I read the article in the North East Tribune and I was taken aback. How do you plead with someone not to skip a red robot? How do you plead with someone not to abruptly stop in the middle of the road? How do you plead with someone not to deafen pedestrians with hooting? How do you plead with someone to obey the law? Have taxis become accustomed to disregarding the law to such a point that they think it is normal? The MMC for Transport now has to beg them to stop breaking the law. What drastic measures need to be taken to bring this to a halt? Which brother, sister, father, mother or child needs to be added to the statistics before we’ve had enough?
