Motorists frustrated by constructions

I am a Rosebank resident and work in the area. My family and I had no choice but to sit tight while the construction of the Gautrain went on.

This meant we had to use Sturdee Avenue to get to Sandton, which was by no means ideal – but what choice did we have?

Once the Gautrain station was completed I thought we would get Oxford Road back. No such luck as Standard Bank then started construction and Oxford Road once again went from three lanes to one. The completion of Standard Bank saw the deterioration of Oxford Road’s surface, which was finally tarred and I thought all our woes were over.

Again, no such luck as Gautrain started to rip off the roof of the three entrances on The Zone side of Oxford Road to do repair work. I would like to know how much longer this is going to take as they have been faffing with the repair for over four months. How long does it take to fix a roof? On some days Oxford is back to one lane as they block off two lanes. Oxford Road is a main road from town to Sandton. Why is this being allowed to take so long? Or am I the only frustrated resident who uses Oxford on a daily basis?
