Change to library friends’ book sale

ROSEBANK – Friends of the Rosebank Library’s Judy Stockill announced a change to the book sale schedule.

The next book sale will take place on 28 November at the library.

“We’ve moved the sale to a Thursday because we hope to attract workers from Rosebank [now that] the Standard Bank building is filling up, and work on the mall is progressing,” said Stockill.

Proceeds from the sale of donated books are used to purchase new books for the library.

Stockill said the October sale was cancelled due to a lack of donations.

“We hope to build up a good stock for the launch of the Thursday sales. Now that we’ve had the first summer rains, I hope everyone is inspired to spring clean or to make space on their shelves for new books for Christmas,” she said.

Donated books can be dropped off at the library.

The Friends of the Rosebank Library book club will meet on 7 November at the library, 8 Keyes Avenue, at 2.30pm.
