ROOSEVELT PARK – Parkview police reported that a woman was robbed of her handbag at knife-point at the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens.
Police spokesperson Princess Mudau said the woman had been walking near the corner of Thomas Bowler Street and John Adamson Drive when the attack took place.
“The woman was approached by a man who had been walking behind her. He cut her handbag with a knife,” said Mudau.
The woman grabbed her handbag and then realised the man had a large rusty knife.
“She dropped the bag, and he took it and ran away. The contents of the bag included an iPhone 4S and her spare car keys,” she said.
The value of the stolen items was estimated at R11 700.
No arrests have been made.
