Girl arrested for stabbing brother

According to police, they were stopped by a member of the public during a routine patrol on Harley Street, who informed them that a woman was stabbing her brother with a knife.

Police spokesperson Constable Thabo Malatsji stated that on arrival police found the teenager with blood-soaked clothes. He added that the siblings’ parents were not at home when the incident occurred and that police were still investigating the reasons which led to the incident.

The 17-year-old victim was taken to hospital. Malatji said he was stabbed five times in the upper body. The suspect was charged by police for attempted murder and detained at Yeoville Police Station. She was expected to appear at Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
