Symphony season coming up

PARKTOWN - After its successful Tchaikovsky Celebration comeback concerts, the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra will present a Second Symphony Season at Parktown's Linder Auditorium.

Classical music lovers will be spoilt for choice with a feast of piano and violin concertos ranging from Rachmaninov to Rossini, and from Mendelssohn to Mozart.

The season will feature conductors, Yasuo Shinokazi, Daniel Boico and Adrian Prabava. Celebrated soloists, Jan Hugo, Luis Magalhaes and Francois du Toit on piano, and Matthew Trusler and Yura Lee on violin, and Polina Burdukova on cello, will also ensure this season is one not to be missed.

The season will run from 9 October until 14 November, and all concerts will be held at the Linder Auditorium, 27 St Andrews Road, Parktown, at 8pm.

Bookings for all concerts can be made through Computicket or at the box office on the night. Season tickets are available from the orchestra.
