Car guard caught red-handed with jamming device

SAXONWOLD - A car guard was arrested by the Rosebank police for possessing a remote car jamming device in Saxonwold.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Bongi Mdletshe said the police were conducting a stop and search operation when they came across a car guard.

Mdletshe said the guard tried to run away when he saw the police.

However, the police acted swiftly and cornered him. “They searched him and recovered the remote car jamming device which was hidden in his private parts,” said Mdletshe.

The suspect was arrested and a case of possessing a car breaking implement had been opened.

Mdletshe said, “The arrest of the car guard will serve as a warning to the public that there are still criminals using the device to commit crime. We urge the public to be alert and careful at all times.”

He added, “We had two cases at the Rosebank Mall recently where two shoppers left their laptops in their cars and found them missing when they got back.”
