Driveway robber on the run

YEOVILLE - Police are on the manhunt for robbers in connection with driveway robbery.

Yeovillle police are on the manhunt for a suspect in connection with a driveway robbery.

The incident took place in St Francis Street, Observatory. According to police, the driver and his son were in their driveway, after returning from OR Tambo International Airport.

Yeoville police spokesperson Constable Thabo Malatji said the victims were followed by a white Toyota Corolla with registration number YBZ 588 GP.

Malatji said when the father and son arrived at their driveway they were blocked by the suspect. “The father managed to run to the house and called the police.

The son was gun-pointed (a gun was pointed at him); the suspect opened the boot and took the luggage and two cellphones, all worth R70 000,” said Malatji. No-one was arrested and the police were investigating a case of armed robbery.
