Building bigger businesses with Purple Growth Consulting

MILPARK – A consulting company officially hosted their first- ever Info Seminar and Solutions Workshop series especially for entrepreneurs.

Growth within the business environment is one of the goals that most people seek to fulfil. A workshop was hosted by PurpleGrowth Consulting towards achieving that end. It was aimed at ensuring that entrepreneurs walk away with the necessary information to start up and expand their businesses. In addition, it was also about connecting entrepreneurs with experts to help them get their businesses ahead of the competition.

PurpleGrowth is a complete Black Economic Empowerment (BEE Level 1) entity that provides customised training and management coaching solutions to individuals, public institutions, and businesses of all sizes in South Africa and other parts of the African continent. It was founded by Mzoxolo Gulwa a sessional lecturer and senior manager at a South African financial services group.

PurpleGrowth operations manager Zanele Zwane said a lot of work went into hosting such an event and the support of the team made it successful. “As a representative of PurpleGrowth, I feel very proud that we have come this far as a company. This seminar taught us a lot about planning, preparation and communication and I am looking forward to us hosting a bigger and better event.”

With the company’s vision, the workshop was positioned to provide development support to businesses owned by youth and women to walk a journey of entrepreneurship from ‘survivalist’ to sustainable businesses.

Key speakers on the day included Winfred Oppong-Amoako, writer and business strategist who addressed the importance of building a solid foundation and collaborating with key expertise within one’s business area.

The workshop covered some of the following key topics:

  • Tips on how to grow your business
  • Stories of entrepreneurial failure and success
  • Opportunity to market your business
  • Networking with like-minded entrepreneurs
  • Opportunity for collaborative partnerships

Going forward PurpleGrowth aims to address small, medium and micro enterprises (SMME) development needs with tailored training and business coaching interventions. The interventions will be delivered by facilitators and business coaches with a strong academic background as well as industry and business ownership experience.

“This is the only way we can effect change in our communities, by serving the entrepreneurs who do not have access to markets. SMMEs provide employment to 60 per cent of the labour force in SA and as PurpleGrowth we want to play an active role in making sure this figure improves through the support initiatives that we provide to SMMEs.” Zwane concluded.
