King David Linksfield schools welcome Grade 7 and 12 learners back on 1 June

LINKSFIELD – The learners were also sanitised and proceeded to fill in forms regarding their health-related activities.

The King David Linksfield schools’ first day back at school for grades 7 and 12 was a success. The school staff were ready with all the Covid-19 safety measures in place as they welcomed the learners on 1 June.

As they walked in, learners had their temperatures checked and then given stickers to acknowledge they had been checked. The learners were also sanitised and proceeded to fill in forms regarding their health-related activities. Thereafter, the staff issued learners with masks as per the regulations. The whole time as learners waited in line, the lines they waited on were marked according to the social distancing measures.

Learners also found out as they entered the classrooms that the desks were also set apart to observe social distancing.

The same social distancing measures still applied during break times as the learners went to catch up with their friends outside. The playground trees had notices stuck to them written ‘remember social distancing’.Not only did the teachers already get grades 7 and 12 to work on the very first day; the cleaning staff also ensured consistent cleaning of the facilities.
